The ten-year guarantee

All SMC2 constructions are covered by a ten-year guarantee which is a legal obligation when building structures. It guarantees the contracting authority or owner in terms of:

• Structural robustness
• Structural damage that is liable to make the building unusable
• The durability of the materials
• Any collapses resulting from design errors

Warning! Ten-year guarantees only cover technical contingencies. Any company intentionally proposing a construction system that does not comply with regulations will not be covered by the ten-year guarantee.

"One breach is recognised in law: this is the inexcusable failure to apply state of the art techniques as defined by the current regulations, standardized technical documents (DTU in France) or standards established by competent bodies that have official status or are included in the tender specifications for the project. This breach punishes the builder's personal behaviour."
