DESCRIPTION

The future largest covered athletics hall in Europe (nearly 10,000 m²) is being built in Miramas, in the South of France.

An ambitious project that brings together many partner companies all mobilized to bring this large-scale complex out of the ground.

The glue-laminated timber frame structure is designed by SMC2 with the architectural firms of Chabanne and RILL and the Valéry Calvi design office.

The building is covered by a double textile membrane and the façades are made of translucent textile, allowing natural light to pass through but filtering the weather.

Focus in this article on the double canvas cover.
