Construction of a gymnasium at Notre Dame de la Providence school in Avranches, France.
Constructed of a mixture of timber and steel framework with tensile canvas roof, this building features timber cladding façade to the lower façade and sandwich panel to the upper façade.
The gymnasium has a pitch measuring 46 m by 26 m, enabling the practice of a variety of sports including handball, volleyball, badminton and soccer. Storage areas have been installed to facilitate the provision of equipment. Changing rooms with showers complete the structure.
The gymnasium can be used for competitions on Wednesday afternoons. It complies with sound and acoustic standards and has a scoreboard for displaying results.
The building, located within the school itself, allows greater freedom in scheduling, making access to sports easier for middle-school students.
