Design and construction of a sports complex in Saint-Clar (France)
SMC2 built this 45 x 46 m sports complex in Saint-Clar, France. The complex is a fine example of our expertise in timber construction. Between the gymnasium and the tennis court are the timber-framed changing rooms, toilets and medical centre. Spectators can also climb a staircase above these areas to get a bird’s eye view of the two sports fields.
The entire complex was built using a timber frame, with a textile membrane roof and facades. The complex therefore fulfils the SMC2 promise: a pleasant, eco-responsible sports facility that guarantees comfort in terms of light, heat and sound, thanks to the translucency and flexibility of the stretched fabric.
The 1,058 m² gymnasium is suitable for team sports such as volleyball, basketball, handball and badminton. The tennis court is 647 m².
