BOULODROME – CESSENON-SUR-ORB (FRANCE)
COMPLETION DATE 2024
SURFACE AREA 1280 M2
Cessenon-sur-Orb, in France, has acquired a brand new boulodrome.
The building was designed with a timber and steel framework, a solution that is both aesthetically pleasing and robust. This combination guarantees the structure’s stability and durability, while offering great architectural flexibility. The roof and facades of the upper part of the building are made of stretched canvas, a modern material that provides optimum protection against the elements, while offering a light, airy aesthetic. The use of canvas is part of an eco-responsible approach that encourages the use of natural daylight, therefore reducing the need for artificial lighting and contributing to significant energy savings.
The Cessenon-sur-Obs boulodrome is an innovative project designed to meet the needs of Pétanque enthusiasts while integrating an environmentally-friendly approach. The new facility offers the community six indoor games, protected from the elements, and twelve outdoor games to enable everyone to play Pétanque whatever the weather. In addition to the courts, the building includes a meeting room and toilets accessible to all, contributing to the conviviality and inclusiveness of the space.
