A modern boulodrome court in Panissières, France: performance, comfort and durability
This building, dedicated to the practice of pétanque, covers a total area of 651 m². Measuring 31.0 m long and 21.0 m wide, it provides a generous space that accommodates both recreational players and competitors year-round.
The main structure of the boulodrome court is based on a timber frame, enhancing the architectural expression of the building while supporting an environmentally responsible approach.
The roof and upper facades are made of textile membrane, a solution that ensures:
- Excellent natural daylight, thanks to the translucency of the material, improving visual comfort for players
- Effective protection against weather, while maintaining a bright and pleasant indoor environment
At ground level, the building features single-skin steel cladding, providing robustness and long-term durability against the elements.
The interior floor is finished with clapicette, an ideal surface for pétanque, offering a consistent texture suitable for all types of play.
Hygrothermal regulation is ensured by a high-performance system that maintains optimal indoor conditions inside the boulodrome court, regardless of external weather.
Finally, a roof lifeline system has been integrated to meet safety requirements for maintenance and future interventions on the roof.
