GYMNASIUM – VILLEMOIRIEU (FRANCE)

Construction of a gymnasium in Villemoirieu (France).

Construction of a 1,757 m² gymnasium and dojo with changing rooms, covered by a textile membrane mounted on a mixed glulam timber and galvanized steel framework.

The fabric facades at the top are covered by wooden over-façades, adding architectural dynamism to the building.

The gymnasium is heated by gas-fired radiant heaters. Storage spaces have been integrated into the structure to save as much space as possible. The dojo and changing rooms are covered in perforated, black-lacquered insulated steel troughs. Heating is by hot-water radiant panels. The air is treated with a dehumidifier and air extractor in the upper section to provide maximum comfort for users.

Thanks to the translucent fabric, students can enjoy their activities without daytime lighting. This reduces the building’s energy impact without compromising playing conditions!
