SMC2 skating rinks are designed in compliance with technical regulation insulation requirements, using timber frame building systems and environmentally friendly renewable energy. The facades are jointly designed with the architects to let the building merge perfectly into its environment. All existing wall facings can be used: metal, wood, composite, mineral, etc. cladding

 

SMC2 puts the sportsman and sportswoman at the heart of its design to offer them real sporting sensations. All our buildings meet the fundamental criteria for the design of an ideal sports building: brightness, acoustics, playing comfort.

TECHNICALLY

The SMC2 skating rink is based on high environmental and architectural quality: it combines a glue-laminated timber structure with a translucent textile membrane roof.
Our textile membrane roofs have a 17 year guarantee. Their curved shapes inspired by the world’s major sports facilities are intemporal.
The air handling and double-walled roof provide thermal comfort without any risk of condensation.

FINANCIALLY

The SMC2 skating rink is a 50% cheaper investment than a traditional skating rink. Combined with synthetic ice, it does not require an air conditioning system and thus limits energy costs.

ECOLOGICALLY

Our optimised building systems using textile membranes combined with a rational use of energy to regulate building temperatures, make it possible to build a structure with a very low investment and operational environmental impact. Our structures have a life cycle analysis that validates the environmental performance of our techniques.
